Easter POST CARD Collage

I just can't decide!!!!
So many stamp sets, soooooooo little time!

I'm guessing that I'm not the only one who looks at their shelf-load of stamp sets and feels overwhelmed with the thought of deciding which set I want to use.

I mean why did you buy those sets if you don't use them? Did you buy it because you liked all the images? or maybe it was just one fabulous image or sentiment that caught your eye. I'm not pointing any fingers mine you. I'm not sure if you want to see my 11 yrs. of sets that (I fell in love with ????) But here is the point..... What are you waiting for? So you just use 1 image out of that set, that's o.k. Fall in LOVE again, it wants your attention.

Today's EASTER inspiration does just that. Believe it or not I used 6 different stamp sets to create this card and I used just 1 stamp out of each set. Now that could be a record....lol !

I'm a sucker for a vintage collage feel and the POST CARD stamp is the perfect background to start with. Here is a sampling of what I mean. Feel free to click on any of the samples and it will take you to the original post.

My 2013-15 In-Color Collection was also begging for my attention...USE ME, USE ME! I do love the ice cream like feel of this group that will be bidding a fond farewell come June. Today's combo is whisper White, Baked Brown Sugar and Crisp Cantaloupe. For a deeper contrast to the Cantaloupe , and another In Color,Tangelo Twist made an appearance. It was used for the Sentiment and the inside of the flower. Wild Wasabi seemed the perfect green to compliment my color combo.

So here is a list of the sets I used , current and retired,
one stamp from each set!
  • Fern.........Butterfly Basics....... (current)
  • Post Card background..............(current)
  • Spatter.....Gorgeous Grunge......(current)
  • Flower......Postage Card Due.....(current)
  • Eggs.........Nature Walk............(retired)
  • Sentiment..Easter Blossoms.......(retired)
Challenge yourself in the next couple of weeks to fall in love again with some of your old sets. And maybe just maybe you may find a new set that would be the perfect compliment to what you already have. I did!

Sunrise on the Sheltering Tree

Did you know the Stampin'Up Sheltering Tree set is the perfect set fit for All Seasons? and I'm not
just talking about Fall, Winter , Spring and Summer.

The sentiments are the perfect way to communicate your warmest thoughts as we navigate life's journeys and all the dear friends that pass by on the way.
  • you warm my heart
  • thankful for you
  • friendship is a sheltering tree
  • thinking of you
I was so excited when My dear friend Mary Middendorf (Cool,Ca) had us create this fun card at her monthly club meeting . I love the value of the photopolymer sets, this on has 14 stamps and you can bend the sentiments before stamping for a curvy feel. I ,of coarse, had to put my own little special effects on it. I have the wonderful privelage of watching the sun rise up and shine through the Sierra foothill oak trees just about every morning. I thought it would be fun to re create that feel by sponging a sun rising up over the hills and through the leaves.

I stamped the tree first in Early Espresso ( note that is is just left of center). Next comes the leaves, sponging inks So Saffron, Crisp Cantaloupe and Wild Wasabi on the stamp and then onto the paper. Use the small leaf cluster to stamp a darker Garden Green around the outside edge of the tree leaves.

Making the hills and sun were fun and easy. Use a mask made from a piece of computer paper. I die cut a large oval and then used the left over frame as my mask. Sponge the hills using the wide side of the oval and then flip the oval so that the pointed end can be used for the sun.

Finish with the perfect sentiment and make natural distressed edges created with the Stampin' Distress Tool. Simply drag the tool along the edges of your paper for a very cool effect.
