Oct."My Paper Pumpkin" kit goes Christmas

Welcome to this month's My Paper Pumpkin,
the October 2014 kit has these cute little die cut boxes that are just waiting to be assembled into sweet pieces of pie....or no wait a minute, is that a Christmas Tree I see?

Take a look at the Stampin'Up video using the kit as is. You will find that those cute little pieces of pie, when clustered together make a wonderful collection of treat containers for your Holiday guests.

Now If you visit me on a regular basis you won't be surprised that I am taking the box from the kit and making something else with it.

We just had our Paper Pumpkin Club on Sunday and the attendees were thrilled that I brought all the supplies for them to make this festive Christmas tree. We all had such a great time assembling our boxes, banners and trees. It's a FREE event each month for all My Paper Pumpkin subscribers through my team members. We meet in Roseville, CA on Sunday afternoons.

To make the Christmas tree I just added a few Garden Green stamped stars from the Bright and Beautiful set directly on the die cut box. I stamped the sentiment from the MINGLE ALL THE WAY set in Real Red ink on Vanilla card stock. Use a 2 1/2" Circle to punch it out. Punch a Garden Green 2 3/8" Scalloped Circle , and Red Glimmer Paper with the  Itty Bitty Accents STAR punch. Pop up the sentiment circles  with dimensionals.

You will want to make sure you leave this side open on the box.  You can fill it up with your favorite Christmas treats, wrap up some jewelry with tissue or even slip in a GIFT CARD. I love that you can seal it when you desire...makes for a great ready to go gift box.

The Garden Green Tree trunk on the bottom of the box is basically an open square attached with double sided Sticky Strip . This stuff is my GO-TO adhesive anytime I am making a project that is 3-D.

Cut a Garden Green piece 5 1/2" x 2", score vertically at 1 1/2", 2 1/2", 4" & 5". Score the other direction at 1".

Cut away the right hand corner piece that is 1" x 1/2". Cut the other sections up to the score line.

Flip over and place adhesive on the small end tab and the other cut sections. No adhesive on the dark one above.

Attach the small tab first to form the square and then fold in other tabs to form and close up the box. Attach Sticky Strip to the closed off side and attach to the bottom of the triangle box.

An Added Bonus for Paper Pumpkin Subscribers is that we have access to purchase refill kits. I love this feature because if you want to make even more than is provided in the monthly kit it's possible. That means if you need 12 teacher gifts or 15 family treat boxes the refill kits can solve that issue. The Sweet as Pie refill kit contains 8 more boxes and accessories and is just $7.95
