I had so much fun making today's card. Anything flowers is always a winner for me. As far as I'm concerned you can never have enough of them in your garden. So my flower pick today is REGARDING DAHLIAS. Dahlias come in so many colors and lots of petal shapes and sizes. So image this big Coastal Cabana Dahlia popping up in your garden surrounded by a bunch of Perfect Plum Dahlias just waiting to be picked for the vase on your table. You know it would be gorgeous. My color cue came from the Connie and Mary color challenge this week, thank you ladies. I chose a Crumb Cake card base rather than white as a neutral. Check out the designers projects HERE.
White emboss 2 DAHLIA flowers, 1 each of Coastal Cabana and Perfect Plum. Cut around the outside edges with paper snips. Sponge Perfect Plum ink on the outside edges to give depth to the flower colors. Punch leaves with Wild Wasabi card stock and the Scallop Oval punch. Score down the middle. Snip out small triangles to create some defined leaf shapes. Sponge with the plum ink.
As you can see in the photo I split the Plum flower so I didn't have to make 2 whole flowers for the card, a real timesaver! I love how the leaves turned out and I hope you will get a chance to try them out yourself. Thank you for joining me today as I find new ways to S T R E T C H my Stampin'Up products.
