We've ALL been waiting for the NEW 2014-15 Stampin'Up CATALOGS to Arrive....
so yahoo today's the day!

I've ordered plenty of pre-order goodies to play with and inspire
my friends and fellow paper crafters. But now I can order whatever I want.
Well, not until June 2nd when the Stampin'Up office opens for orders.

SIMPLY CLICK on the Catalog images above to look at each flip book catalog.
(FYI, it my take a few minutes, in the mean time you might want to grab a wish list to make notes on...just saying!!!)

Also a reminder that today is the last day to order from the Occasions Catalog and the Retiring 2013-14 Catalog (click images on the right hand side bar for current updates on product availability)

Here is a fond FAREWELL to one of my favorites sets
it is one of the cards we created in my Creative Coloring Class last week.
It combines the new blendabilities with Brushed Gold, Tangerine Tango and Brown Sugar card stocks. The sentiment is from the Yippee Skippee set.

I thought I might share a few items on my Wish List from the new catalog. I suppose it would be a great idea to limit what I show you but that would be no fun, right? This doesn't even include all the NEW IN COLORs, ribbons, Washi Tape and Amazing new Designer Papers.

All of these items are available in my ONLINE store starting
June 2nd 12:00pm MST

Stampin'Up is expecting to start taking orders in LATE JUNE/EARLY JULY

Hamburger Box Graduation Cap

There is a NEW Stampin'Up die cut coming out with the
 NEW CATALOG June 2nd.
It's called the Hamburger Box Bigz XL.
(XL meaning extra long die)
The box finishes out at 4"x3 1/4" x 1 1/4".

When the die first became visible to demonstrators, I knew it would be fun to make a little graduate hat by just adding 2 layers of black card stock and a simple button tassel.

I was glad to see that I could use a 8 1/2" x 11" piece of card stock instead of a 12x12 with the extra long die. There are 2 additional die pieces that are included with the die that are tags. One has a pop out heart ...so cute!

It was easy to put the cut and scored box together with the help of my bone folder and STICKY STRIP. As with all 3-D die cut shapes, it takes a few minutes to get the knack of how it folds the first time you try it. Cut 2 Black pieces 5"x5" for the board piece on top.

I created the tassel with Gold Metallic Baker's Twine and a Antique Brad. The tassel was attached to the board with the button brad before I sticky stripped it to the Hamburger Box.

The sentiment was stamped in black on white card stock and punched with the  Large Oval. The sentiment is from a retired stamp set called..................... ALL YEAR Cheer III.......it was the perfect size.

Your Grad will be sure to SMILE when they open the BOX.
What's inside?  MONEY..rolled up like little diplomas and tied with a little piece of red ribbon....soooooo fun. Yes, the actual Green stuff!

So I hope you'll have a chance to try this out yourself. Remember the Hamburger Box XL Die is available starting June 2, 2014. Feel free to copy my project and post with a link that comes back here at Stamp and Stretch. If there are any questions I can answer you can comment below or text me.

FYI...You will need a Big Shot Machine and XL Cutting Plates for this die....the little green machine that so many of us started with will not accommodate the width of the XL cutting plates.

Vellum Embossed Blended Bloom

Welcome, Well Here I go again..
S T R E T C H ing the way I use my SU Products.
The NEW Blended Bloom stamp set is certainly making it's debut on blogs and Pinterest alike. (available here June 2nd)
Sooo I was thinking....
How about some added inspiration???

Today I'm embossing it on Vellum!
What do you think?

With a little help from my blogging friends I created the
Sketch from Mary Jo
and the theme from Ann.
Click on these banners to play along

The Whisper White, Vanilla and Silver combination lends itself to all types of Occasions like Anniversaries, Weddings and Birthdays. I paired the see through look of the vellum with the organza ribbon, they just seem to fit so well together. I think I'm diggin the white theme. What about you? My go to embossing folder is the Perfect Polka Dots. I really feel that it creates a neutral backdrop for most images. In Fact I like to have a piece of it already embossed and ready to try at a moments notice.

Bleached Blended Bloom

Welcome to a fun little technique I haven't done in quite awhile...
Bleaching! It's a different way to feature the upcoming single stamp
Available Jun 2

You can see the lined image that was stamped with Bermuda Bay ink on the vanilla envelope. But look how different it looks when you make your own bleach pad and stamp on Early Espresso card stock. The stamped lines turned the color of Soft Suede which would be the color I chose for the vanilla backed panel.
I used the sketch challenge
at Connie and Mary for my layout inspiration

One of my favorite color combos are Bermuda Bay and browns. Because I've been into a gold thing lately it was only fitting that I keep the Gold mojo going. I have to say I really have enjoyed focusing on a specific product for several projects. I found myself saying a couple of weeks ago" Oh yeah, here's that stuff I bought back when and haven't used it enough"!

My Gold products include..
Brushed Gold cardstock, Gold Bakers Twine, & Watercolor Wonder Washi Tape

You can make your own Bleach pad by folding several layers of paper towels into an ink pad size. I then lighted soaked the pad in water. Next place the pad on a flat plate or pie tin. Now go outside and splash some household bleach on the pad on the plate. (watch out for your clothes) Use as a regular ink pad but hold the image on your paper for about 10 seconds so the bleach really soaks in. Let sit to dry. Finish drying with a Heat Tool. Cut out with Paper Snips.

1.   Make a Bermuda Bay card base.
2.   Cut and Attach a Soft Suede panel measuring  1/2" x 3 3/4".
3.   Cut a Very Vanilla layer 4 1/4" x 3 1/4".
4.   Wrap the vanilla layer with the Washi Tape.
5.   Wrap the vanilla layer with the Gold Bakers Twine diagonally on 2 ends,
knot it and tie a bow. Tie a 2nd bow over the 1st bow with an additional
piece of twine. Attach this panel to the Suede layer.
6.   Cut a 4 1/4" x 3/4" Brushed Gold banner.
7.   Attach the banner on top of the vanilla layer as you slide it under the bow.
8.   Stamp Birthday Wishes from the Petite Pairs set in Bermuda Bay ink on
Vanilla cardstock. Punch with Large Oval.
9.   Layer the sentiment with a Scalloped Oval punched from Bermuda Bay C.S.
10. Color Basic Rhinestones with the the NEW Blendabilities Markers. I used the
darkest color in the Coastal Cabana Assortment....so pretty!

Technique Twist # 23 3-D Flowers

What's the Technique Twist challenge this week?
We have decided to challenge you with making 3-D Flowers.
I say bring on the punches...with a little punch and smoosh of the paper
it's easy to make your flowers stand up and shout!

Grab the Badge!

I thought I would get a little help from my friends with a sketch from
the Paper Craft Crew

And this wonderful color inspiration at the ColourQ

If you have been following my blog, you know that I have been on a Vellum Kick lately. So here I go again...Using the FANCY FOIL stuff. It's such an easy way to place a touch of elegance on your card. Not only that, I also used the Gold Foil sheets. It really adds a shiny gold impact to the base of my flower.

More gold accents were added to the Scalloped Tag (2" x 4 1/2" long) using the Watercolor Wonder Washi Tape. I took my bone folder and pressed across the tape after I applied it to the Tempting Turquoise Tag. This really helped the darker color to saturate the white tape with the color underneath showing through. The polka dot vellum on the side panel is punched from a 2 1/2" Circle.

Making the Twisted Flower......
you will need

Gold Fancy Foil Design Vellum, Gold Foil Sheet, Pansy Punch, Pool Party Bakers Twine, Glue Dots, bone folder, paper snips

1. Using the Pansy Punch , punch 1 Gold Foil flower and 3 Vellum flowers.
( Tip: when punching the vellum be sure and include as many of the gold
            dots as possible )
2. Using the tip of a bone folder, curl the vellum petals in an upward direction.
3. Layer the vellum flowers on the foil flower using glue dots and off setting
each additional layer so the flower petals don't line up.
3. Wrap a piece of Pool Party Bakers Twine around the bone folder about 10
times. Slide the little bundle off the tip of the bone folder and tie an
additional piece around the center of the loops (bow)and knot it.
4. Using your paper snips, clip the loops. Hold the center knot and Fold in half.
Now you can give it a little haircut if the ends don't match up evenly.
5. Place glue dots in the center of the flower and attach the center knot of the
Pom Pom to the center of the flower.
6. At this point I took the vellum petals and gathered them up toward the
center of the flower to really create the 3-D effect.

Make some pretty little patterned leaves with the Bird Builder Punch. With Tempting Turquoise ink, stamp a  Fresh " HELLO" banner with the Perfect Pennants stamp set. It's easy to perfectly cut out the stamped banner with the coordinating framelits , a Big Shot machine and Magnetic Platform.

Thank You for joining in the fun today!

"Work of Art" Sneak Peek #3

I've been getting some emails from some of you asking me to make a sample of the "Work of Art" stamp set using some of the current In-Colors ...
well here is what I chose for this 15 min card!

Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe , Bermuda Bay and Gold Metallic Encore Inks

The Super Quick and Easy effect was created by stamping off the ink to create various shades of the same color.

Want to StEP IT UP a Notch?

A Simple panel of Gold Metallic Vellum placed over the top of the dots gives a transparent illusion of depth and elegance. I think I prefer this added touch to match the Gold Baker's Twine. It literally took minutes to make and sometimes I just love that quick and easy card. I just popped it in the mail to one of my customers today. I hope she will like it.

New Way to Color your Stampin'Up Images

Stampin' Up! is excited to announce that one of our most exciting new products, Stampin' Blendabilities Markers, will be available for purchase sometime during late June/early Aug (still to be determined) These exclusive alcohol-based marker sets, come in a 3-pack of light, medium and dark shades (of the same color ), and provide your projects a more saturated look with blended colors. They are the perfect marker to color your black lined Stampin'Up images. We recommend using Stampin' Up! Whisper White Cardstock with your Stampin' Up! Blendabilities, but any one of our cardstocks would work just as well.

What Sets Them Apart from other alcohol-based markers:
  • The Stampin' Up! rectangular barrel keeps your markers from rolling away!
  • Flat storage helps to maintain the life of each marker.
  • Each marker comes with a tip on each end: brush and fine.
  • Marker tips are made of nylon, which is superior to polyester which can fray.
  • Color coded caps.
  • Stampin' Up! markers coordinate wonderfully with our cardstock, and can be used with transparent sheets.
  • Rhinestones, pearls and buttons can be colored to coordinate with the cardstock.

Marker Sets  $11.95 come in a Pack of 3 with light, medium and dark shades of the same color

Flipping THX with extra panel

Time to Play with my Circle Thinlets Die!

I haven't taken the time to play with it lately, who knows why.  It really works out to be a great card to feature Designer Paper on, but After talking with another demo she was having problems with her cards tearing. I said "Tearing? how is that possible". She mentioned she was making her BASE out of Designer Paper. "Oh" I said, "it's not thick enough to withstand the constant motion". So here's your tip for today... Use card stock for your base when making Flip Cards and you won't have any concerns when your receiver constantly plays with these cards.

To Make this project you will need these papers.

Did you notice I have added an extra panel on the card to create even more movable parts? It's easy to create the extra flap when you initially run the thinlet die through your Big Shot machine.

What you will need to do is create additional length to the piece of card stock you run through the die. Cut a piece of Bermuda Bay card stock  8 1/2" x  almost 5 1/2" ...shortened it by 1/16"...this allows you to easily slip it under the die at one end. The longest end will hang over the thinlet die. When you run it through the Big Shot go over the end  of the die and this will make a score line for you on the card stock to then fold.

Now what about all those elements, let's take a look at what I used. I love that  Everything is included in the set.

Circle card Thinlits Die
Die cut the following...

Crushed Curry Scalloped Circle, Coastal Cabana THX and Banner,  2 Crushed Curry Stars, 2 Silver Glimmer paper stars ( sparkly side up).

Now the Eastern Elegance Designer Paper... (this paper is retiring)

Eastern Elegance Designer Series Paper

Die cut 1 Heart , a Crushed Curry front panel  2" x 2", a front side panel 2 1/8" x 5 3/8". and an inside strip 3 1/2" x 3/4"

Last is the Whisper White inside panel to write your very special Thank You message , 5 3/8" x 2 3/8".

Use dimensionals to pop up the Scalloped Circle and the Crushed Curry Heart on the front. Finish with a small row of 5 Rhinestones...love that sparkle!

What do you think of today's card? I love to hear your comments!
I hope you have a chance to make one of these Super Fun flip cards soon. You can find the supplies HERE  Have a wonderful day!
