Anyone tired of cold weather? A Fresh and Spring feel may be just the ticket for those winter blues!
That's what I was going for with this bright and cheery birthday card.
It uses the "You're Amazing" stamp set and the colors
Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay and Daffodil Delight.
I love the cozy and fresh feel of the gingham with the crisp white accents. Because I have the Gingham wheel I can get that Gingham feel in ANY color when I roll it over the white card stock . I simply rolled it several times over my Coastal Cabana ink pad and then rolled it onto a white strip that was just a wee bit narrower than the wheel design. The Gingham Garden Washi tape was applied to white card stock to really have the yellow and white checks POP!
The Daffodil delight flower is so pretty don't you think? No stamping, but I definitely used some of my scraps from another project....love using those scrap pieces. Which pieces are scraps? Well first I punched a Daffodil Delight Blossom flower. Now this is where the scraps come in....the pointy petals in Bermuda Bay are the left over pieces that were die cut out of this card.
It's the die cut called Lattice Bigz which is so versatile for card layers and weaving paper or ribbon through. Both of these cards were featured at my last card class and the ladies really loved having the tip about using the leftovers and weaving paper through it.
I thought it would be fun to incorporate some added texture to the flower. I used Scallop Circle punches for the center of the flower. First 1 1/4" in white card stock .Second the adorable embossed center was dry embossed using the Petals a Plenty folder and my Big Shot and then punched out with a 7/8" Scallop Circle.
Glam up your card with a punched Silver Glitter Elegant Butterfly layered with a Bermuda Bay Bitty Butterfly. So cute dressed in Basic Rhinestones.
