Shabby Chic Fabric Heart Tutorial

Do you have Fabric waiting be turned into something Shabby and Vintage?
Look how cute it looks on my vintage teapot.

Well I'm Back with the tutorial on how to make this
SHABBY CHIC stuffed Fabric Heart

Using a Big Shot machine cut 4 layers of fabric out, 1 at a time using the largest heart in the HEARTS COLLECTION Framelits. run back and forth through the machine each layer that you cut to insure that you cut all the way through the fabric. Pull the heart apart from the fabric and if it is stubborn just give it a good  tug...remember it's shabby!

Pin all 4 layers together with the top and the bottom layers showing the right side of the fabric facing out. Thread a large needle with Linen Thread about 36" total or about 17" on each side (2 threads). No need to knot the two threads together.

Start to weave the threaded needle through the fabric, pull through leaving a tail of linen thread about 4".

Continue the stitching process all the way around the heart stopping about 2 inches from where you first started.

Temporarily anchor your needle in the fabric to use later to close off the stuffing hole and then take your left over fabric scraps from your die cutting to push inside the heart. Plump or squishy it's up to you depending on how much you want to fill it.

Remove the Needle and finish stitching the heart closed. Cut the thread and release the needle.

Seperate the four hanging thread and use 2 to thread a VERY VINTAGE DESIGNER BUTTON. These little vanilla buttons are embossed with patterns and eyelet edges...so perfect for this project.

Tie the two threads together in a knot, then pull all 4 threads together and tie a knot at the bottom of the button.

Tie a bow with Crumb Cake Tulle (available in the Clearance Rack) and trim with Paper Snips.

Cut through both of the loops on the bow. Here's a view of the finished one.

Cut a 3" banner out of 1 1/4" Burlap Ribbon. Attach Bow and Burlap to the heart with a VINTAGE TRINKET safety pin.

Attach 2 Antique Brads through the Burlap Ribbon

Cut a 4" piece of Victoria Crochet trim, fold in half and attach to the top of the heart with another Trinket safety pin.

Attach one more safety pin to the Burlap Ribbon for the final Vintage element.

The perfect keepsake or gift
for that simple vintage feel in your home decor

I currently have mine displayed on a metal vintage mailbox I picked up at an antique store in Healdsburg, Ca. The top of the box is filled with dried lavender from the garden of my SIL  Laurie , who lives in that town.
Can you smell the relaxing Lavender from where you are???
