Technique Twist Traced Doodling

This week I decided to use the Festive Flurry stamp set and make
this gorgeous Ornament Ball. It was easy to stamp the image and then use the 2 1/2" circle punch to create the ball of the ornament.

The image from the Festive Flurry set was the perfect jumping off point to practice the TRACED DOODLING technique without too much worry of messing up. I stamped the image in Coastal Cabana and then traced along the edges of the stamped image using a Bermuda Bay and  Real Red marker. A couple of the areas were filled in solid. To give the ball some shape I sponged the outer edge with the Coastal Cabana which gave the ball more depth. I also threw in a Twist of Dazzling Details glitter glue along some of the line edges to bling up the ornament and to coordinate with the rhinestones I placed in the center. The top of the ornament was punched from the Cupcake Builder Punch and topped with a small piece of Red Taffeta ribbon.

Chevron Ribbon Banners & Sweater Weather

When I saw the sketch challenge at Create with Connie and Mary
I knew I wanted to incorporate ribbon as part of my row of banners.
I love the use of the Sweater Weather designer paper with the Chevron Ribbon
and the texture from the Burlap Ribbon.

Start with a Chocolate Chip card base. Cut a Pumpkin Pie Layer 5 1/4" x 4", don't attach it to the base quite yet as you need to wrap the 1 1/4" Burlap Ribbon around it. Cut strips from the Sweater Weather DSP the same width as the Chevron Ribbon which is 3/4". The Length is 3". Be sure and snip your paper and ribbon tails before you apply them to the Pumpkin Pie layer. Cut a piece of the Burlap Ribbon 6 1/2". Using red sticky strip apply and Wrap it over the tops of the banners and around the base. Use dimensionals to attach the Pumpkin Pie layer to the Choc. Chip card base.

Here's a close up of the button embellishment using the
Natural Designer Buttons found on pg 169 of the catalog and
a Vintage Trinket on the following page.

Here I'm using the Fabulous Phrases stamp set to create my own sentiment. I love the versatility of the 30 different sentiments and being able to put together 1 or more words to convey a thought. I stamped them in CHocolate chip ink on Vanilla card stock and then punched them with the Word Window Punch. I ran the Vintage Trinket through the "heartfelt " sentiment and then glued the other one underneath it. You can then snip off the ends and attach it to the Early Espresso Bakers Twine which has been run through the button , knotted and then tied in a bow.

The final touch was tucking a couple of Chocolate Chip leaves under the button using the leaves from the Bird Builder Punch. Button and leaves were glued down in place.

Die cut the leaf elements using the Autumn Accents die #127812
(on SALE during Stampin'Up's weekly deals Nov. 5th) here
I used Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry, Soft Suede, More Mustard and Choc Chip.

Die cut a Top Note # 113463 base using Not So Saffron card stock
Fold the Saffron piece in half.

Glue all of the elements on the folded half with some of the leaves
Hanging over the top edge.

After it has dried , open up the top note base and place the entire
flattened piece in the
Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder #117335
TIP: If you want your embossed images up , be sure that you can
Read the black Stampin'Up logo right side up

Fold the base back in half again, now punch a large oval circle#119855
From Chocolate Chip card stock. Using the Chalk Marker #132133 write your family names in your own printing.
Once dried I traced over "Mom" with a Pumpkin Pie marker.

Finish with a bow using Linen Thread

Now it's time to try your own INLAID EMBOSSING, have fun!
