Gingham Garden Gate Fold & Flags

Opening this card is like opening the gates to a Garden,
It's bright, filled with flowers and maybe a secret inside!

I guess it's my little way of preserving my summer garden now ready to go to sleep for the colder days ahead. I will keep it on hand to send out to brighten someone's day when the darker and shorter days come. The bright and cheery paper from the Gingham Garden DSP pack gave me the perfect zip of color and floral pattern I wanted.

Make a Melon Mambo card base by cutting a piece of card stock 8 1/2" x 5 1/2". Score on the long side at 2 1/8" at both ends to create the doors of the gate.
Apply Patterned prints to each of the gate doors: Gingham 2 1/4" x 1 3/4", Floral 2 3/4" x 1 3/4"

Punch a yellow Daffodil Delight "Blossom" flower and cut it in half. With dimensionals pop up each half on either side of the gate doors.

 Punch Pack

Create your next layer of the Pear Pizzazz Using a 1 3/8" Circle punch, cut circle in half. . Punch 2 Island Indigo small flowers using the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack. I then used Silver Glimmer Brads to create little doorknobs and went right through the Indigo flowers. Before you tighten the brads down slip a piece of Island Indigo bakers twine using a small knot on the prongs under the head. Leave one side LONG so that you can loop it around the other brad when you close and open the gate doors. Now Pop up the Pear Pizzazz circles with dimensionals onto the Daffodil flower.

Time to make the flags...
Look how cute the matching Gingham Garden Washi Tape looks wrapped around some toothpicks and tucked behind the flower. Just wrap a piece of Washi Tape around the toothpick, stick it back to back onto it self and then trim your flag tips with Paper Snips. Trim sticks to size and glue under flower layers.

I just love the little sentiments that are included in the "Six-Sided Sampler" stamp set. There are 3 sentiments to choose from...I like this one the best! It's stamped on white card stock with Island Indigo Ink and punched out with the  Small Oval Punch. The perfect size and so cute on the yellow gingham flag! Did you notice how perfectly the Washi Tape matches with the patterned paper. I can always count on Stampin'Up's products to take the guess work out of color matching making my end product more professional looking.
