Topless Santa is Looking Cool!

S T R E T C H ing my Holiday Catalog products again, this time
playing with the VERY MERRY TAGS stamp set (pg.33).
And the never ending (cause there are 48 sheets)

An Aging SANTA still looks COOL!...a REAL guy card

The whole thing started when I decided to use the LABEL BRACKET punch to try and create a Santa beard. Before you knew I was into it deep, yep...PUNCH ART here I come. I think I could spend hours with my punches just creating lots of details, which I know would drive some people crazy ( all those little parts ) LOL. But I just get on a roll and what ever hits my brain, I go ahead and create. Seems like the bald look for guys has become the norm so I knew my topless Santa would appeal to the guys as well as us ladies.

Head (Extra Large Oval), Ears (Bitty Butterfly) and mouth(1/2" Circle) using Vanilla Card stock and sponged with Pink Pirouette ink.
Beard (Label Bracket) and Mustache (Bitty Butterfly) using Whisper White card stock and Basic Gray ink.
Real Red nose (1/4" Circle) and Basic Black sunglasses (1/2" Circle)

Crumb Cake card base and a Gumball green Top Note panel set off the striped DSP strip and Polka Dot Banner from the Seasons of Style DSP stack.

I used 2 of the stamps from  Very Merry Tags stamp set which has 8 super cute stamps using all of our favorite punches.

Very Merry Tags Clear-mount Stamp Set

I decided to S T R E T C H the Naughty/Nice image a bit and
write COOL instead just to help match up my new BALDing Santa.
I think this would make a Great Guy card

A Day of indulging my PLAYFUL side...I hope you had fun too!

Thanksgiving Tags 4 You

T, T, & T

That's right , Tags, Top Note & Thanksgiving, right from the
2013 Holiday Catalog!
all combined
together in a great "Create with Connie and Mary" Color Challenge

the Fall Collection

The Chocolate Chip card base and Crushed Curry Top Note panel provide the perfect canvas to build my two patterned tags. The plaid is from the Sweater Weather Designer Paper and the Curry Striped is a tag from the TAG A BAG ACCESSORY Kit. I had to trim the points on the plaid but not the stripes.

Love this Thanksgiving sentiment: the font, swirls and fancy punched edges. I stamped it with Chocolate chip ink on white card stock and then punched with the LABEL BRACKET punch....soooo cool when Stampin'Up matches up the stamp sets and punches. Punch a 1 3/4" circle in Soft Sky to place underneath and raise up on dimensionals.

No need to punch a hole for the Ribbon treatment, it's already to go. Run Crushed Curry 3/4" Chevron Ribbon through and tie with a piece of 3/8" Soft Suede Taffeta Ribbon. Trim the Chevron ends to make fish tails.

Technique Twist-Faux Patina Bronze Medallion

Turn Paper into Metal with this fun Technique!

Yes , believe it or not my medallion necklace is made from
Brushed Gold card stock,
 gold embossing powder,
and a couple of dry embossing folders,
2 stamps,
and 3 colors of ink.

It's all a part of this week's

Grab the Badge!

Now I have to admit I went a Little crazy with mine, but you will for sure want
to see what the other's have done with their cards HERE
So come on over and try the technique
yourself, but keep it simply right??!!

Here's what I did......

Cut 2 back pieces of Brushed Gold card stock using the Apothecary Accent Die
 and a Big Shot machine.

Dry emboss one of the pieces using a filigree style embossing folder like
Beautifully Baroque or I used Vintage Wallpaper which just retired.

After embossing glue the two pieces together for extra thickness so it won't

Punch 2 Extra Large Oval Brushed Gold pieces and run 1 piece through the
Designer Frames embossing folder, glue pieces together.

With a Versamark pad and Gold Embossing powder, emboss 1
Magnificent Maple and glue to a second piece of Brushed Gold card stock.

Cut through 2 layers of card stock around the outside edges of the maple leaf.

Gold Emboss the GRATITUDE sentiment from the Fabulous Phrases stamp set
on Brushed Gold card stock and trim around the sentiment.

Time to sponge Ink on Each individual part (4) with Island Indigo , Cajun Craze, and Early Espresso.

Heat set with a Heat Tool by lightly using gun on all inked areas.

Assemble the layers and I also used a Bone Folder to curl the edges of the
Maple Leaf. Use a good craft adhesive to glue your layers together.

Punch a hole in the top with a Piercing Tool and add a bronze colored
jump ring and chain from your local craft store.

Thanks for Joining me Today as I
S T R E T C H my wonderful Stampin'Up products.

Top Note and Magnificent Maple Fun Color Combo

If you've been blog hopping or PINning extraordinaire you are well
aware of this versatile MAGNIFICENT MAPLE  stamp.

I always try to challenge myself with new color combinations and I've always loved using the teals colors along with the traditional Fall colors. I think the Island Indigo creates a nice change and works well with the Summer Starfruit. I really had fun throwing in the unexpected Pumpkin Pie for a nice little Bright Spot on the card. Rich Razzleberry ink gave me the perfect dark contrast I was looking for, softer on Very Vanilla card stock than if I were to have used Whisper White.

My sketch was inspired by Connie and Mary's Fall Saturday Challenge HERE.
And I've Designed a Special 3-D Project using the Magnificent Maple stamp that is perfect for your Fall Table. However the only way you can see it is to be a subscriber to the FALL COLLECTION.....you can subscribe at any time! 24 projects for about $1.00 each (step by step downloadable tutorials) INFO HERE

1.   Make a Very Vanilla card base.
2.   Using Rich Razzleberry ink stamp the leaves randomly around the outside
      border of the card base.
3.   Die cut with a Big Shot machine and the Top Note die 1 each of Island
Indigo card stock and Summer Starfruit.
4.   Cut away a large portion of the top of the Summer Starfruit piece and then
      along the perforated edge.
5.   Glue Starfruit panel on top of the Indigo Top Note piece.
6.   Attach a thin 1/4" strip of Pumpkin Pie card stock to the top edge of the
      Summer Starfruit piece.

7.   Stamp " MY FRIEND " in Rich Razzleberry ink from the Six Sided Sampler
      stamp set.
8.   Apply 3 CANDY DOTS from the Regals Collection to highlight the sentiment.
9.   Cut 2 banners, Indigo 2 1/4" x 3/4,  Pumpkin 1 3/4" x 1/2". Glue and
Attach to the bottom edge of the horizontal 1/4" Pumpkin strip.

10.  Stamp 2 Maples leaves with Rich Razzleberry ink on Very Vanilla and
Rich Razzleberry card stock. Fussy cut the leave edges with paper snips.
11.  Pop up the leaves with Dimensionals and attach to the top of the banner.
12.  Tie 2 pieces of Island Indigo bakers twine together to make a bow. Glue
       in place.
13.  Pop up the whole Tope Note panel with dimensionals and apply to the card

More MAGNIFICENT MAPLE inspiration......

Tags 4 You, Pumpkins with Witch Hats

Is it a Trick or a Treat ?
no TRICK, just the TREAT of using the Tags 4 You
stamp set in a new way.

I love the COLOR COMBO as inspired by this week's challenge

Notice the itsy bitsy spiders on the bottom of the

It's part of the design on the Treat or Trick stamp
in the TAGS 4 YOU stamp set.
This set includes 4 Holiday Images,plus a
"To:  From:"  to place on the back of your tags

Tags 4 You Clear-mount Stamp Set

I used a Black marker to ink up the spider and then stamped it onto pumpkin pie and very vanilla card stock before punching the pieces for my pumpkins.

How about those Witch Hats! Fun huh?

Make your own using Modern Medley Designer Paper and the Petite Pennants Builder Punch. Punch the triangles of the hats in desired black and white print. Cut a 1/4" strip measuring about 1 1/2" long. Sponge the edges of the printed pieces with Crumb Cake ink to add some depth before applying the strip to the base of the large triangle. Apply a thin line of glue to the bottom of the large triangle and attach the 1/4" strip. With paper snips ,clip from the bottom outside corner of the strip to the point where the large triangle meets the strip on top ( you will be removing a mini triangle piece ).

Assemble pumpkins by punching card stock using the LARGE OVAL and SMALL OVAL punches. Sponge all pieces with crumb cake ink below assembling together.

Pumpkin Pie, Summer Starfruit and Black markers were used to create the TRICK or TREAT sentiment panel. Just cut around the panel and sponge with Crumb Cake ink.

Now I finally had a chance to play with my NEW

it's in the Holiday Catalog on pg. 20 (easy to miss seeing it )

This is a really cool marker and much easier to use than I thought it would be.
It's permanent ink, goes on very smoothly yet gives you that chalkboard look.
I knew I wanted to incorporate a spider web in my card and this marker came to my rescue. You can Draw the straight spokes of the web from the upper corner first and then draw in your curved webs starting at the wide end of the web. I really think the black TOP NOTE panel gives the spider web a lot more interest than if it were drawn on just a regular rectangle panel. What do you think?

I hope today's card was a TREAT for you!

Technique Twist #6 "Bleaching",

my Design Team Twist on the Technique....

Magnificent Maple Faux Color Chip

( why stamp on 1 color of card stock when you can do 3...LOL )

Pear Pizzazz, Always Artichoke, Old Olive

Grab the Badge!

Check out what the rest of the DESIGN TEAM has done
and come play along HERE

There are various ways to do image bleaching......
here's what I did

1. Make a bleach pad by placing folded paper towel on a salad size flat plate.
2. Pour bleach directly onto paper towels away from other items probably in
your laundry area ( my sheets sitting on the dryer somehow found a couple
of dribbles as I moved them to get other stuff out of the dryer....arghhhh).
3. Place the fumes aside as you cut your card stock.
4. Cut the color panels
    2 -Pear Pizzazz 3 3/4" x 1/2"
    2 -Always Artichoke 3 3/4" x 1"
    1 -Old Olive 3 3/4" x 1 3/4"
5. Adhere the panels side by side on a piece of white copy paper.
6. Ink up the Magnificent Maple stamp lightly with clear versamark ink to
protect the stamp and then onto the bleach pad.
7. Turn your stamp as you place images on ALL 3 colors making sure you
    stamp off the edge also.
8. Let dry and watch the color being pulled from each card stock color.
9. When dry trim away the copy paper and Punch with the 3/16" Corner Edge.

10. Make a sentiment panel
      Whisper White 2 1/4" x 3/4"       So Saffron  2 1/2" x 1"
11. Stamp the "hello there" sentiment from the HAPPY DAY stamp set in
Always Artichoke ink. ( available in French and German also).
12. Pop up the sentiment with dimensionals and place the whole faux
color chip on a Whisper White card base.

You really must give it a GO, it's fun to see how each color of card stock
can come up with a variety of bleached colors.

Todays supplies include...
