Print Tray meets New Envelope Liners

Now that I have the NEW ENVELOPE LINER FRAMELITS in my hot
little hands I had to match it up with one of my favorite card styles.
I'm kinda crazy about the colors and designs in the New
EASTERN ELEGANCE Designer Paper...so on Trend!

The Gray and Crushed Curry are so on trend with what's being shown in the stores. I wanted my card to especially appeal to my 30 something family members who will be receiving this card. What a custom surprise they will have when they open the card and find a MATCHING ENVELOPE LINER using the very same paper. It's the WOW factor I want! I'm telling you these liners will do it! Yahooooo! Maybe you Don't have any Designer Paper around? Doubtful! But if not, Stampin'Up takes the guess work out of color matching. I know when I choose a designer paper it will match perfectly with the Stampin' Up card stock.

Todays card uses the Eastern Elegance colors..... Crushed Curry, Smoky Slate, & Whisper White (also has Coastal Cabana but not on this card)

I wanted to showcase the paper designs with a darker contrasting border so I choose Basic Gray card stock for the Print Tray dividing sections.

Eastern Elegance Designer Series PaperBasic Gray 8-1/2X11 Card Stock

Start with a Crushed Curry card base

 1. Make a Whisper White panel measuring 3 3/4" x 4 3/4"
 2. Make a Basic Gray panel measuring 3 1/2"x 4 1/2"
 3. Cut Eastern Elegance Designer paper
left row from top to bottom finished sizes
       1" x 1 1/2"
1" x 1" Stamped Image on white cs using "Lacy and Lovely" set
(see #4 instructions, cut your piece larger and then punch to the
           1x1 size)
       1" x 1 1/2"

right row from top to bottom
       2" x 1/2"
       2" x 1 1/2"
       2" x 3/4"
2" x 1" Stamped sentiment on white cs using "Lacy and Lovely" set
         (see #5 instructions)
Lacy & Lovely Clear-Mount Stamp Set

  4.   Ink up the medallion image from the Lacy and Lovely stamp set using a
Smoky Slate marker, stamp on a white card stock scrap and then punch
out with the 1" square punch. Isn't it cool that the stamp images work so
        well with this Designer paper.

Smoky Slate Stampin' Write Marker
 5.   Stamp "Hello" on the 2x1 white card stock piece using a Crushed Curry
and Smoky Slate marker by using the brush tip side and inking up each
the letters according to the card photo.
 6.   Make your card playful by attaching a Hung Up Cute Clip wrapped in
Basic Gray 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon. Attach with Glue Dots.

The NEW ENVELOPE LINER FRAMELITS will be released tomorrow so I can't actually show you the product per Stampin'Up agreement policy. However you will want to know that there are 3 Framelit Dies that fit 3 of Stampin'Up's different size envelopes. They are so easy to make, just die cut with your Big Shot, apply a little Snail Adhesive and slip into your envelope...ta dah, fantastic!

Playing w/ New Holiday Catalog Products

Just Days Away....Yes, the new Stampin'Up Holiday Catalog 2013
is being released August 1st. I've been playing with several items
and wanted to show you this card I did for the
Create with Connie and Mary Sketch Challenge HERE

Check out what the designers have done, (always inspiring) then get
out your Stampin'Up products and come play along!

I thought it would be fun to take the Kind and Cozy stamp set in the Annual Catalog and give it a Fall theme using products from the Holiday Catalog. Fall? you say. YES, it will start before you know it. Plaids, leaves and a warm beverage just seem to go together. So it seemed fit to use the SWEATER WEATHER Designer paper for my main pattern. Love this plaid, plus there are more! The DSP incorporates 7 colors..Choc. Chip, Crushed Curry, Sahara Sand, Soft Sky, Tangerine Tango, Vanilla and White.

I did mix up my colors a bit though. I used Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Soft Suede and Vanilla.

I stamped the gingham circle in Soft Suede and punched it out with a 2 1/2" circle punch. I then stamped the cup in pumpkin pie offsetting it from the center. See the extra steam rising from the cup.  Re-ink just the steam part of the stamp, place a sticky note over the first steam mark, then stamp off a little of the ink before stamping on the extra steam on top of the first steam.

Stamp the Holiday Single stamp MAGNIFICENT MAPLE using soft suede ink on So Saffron Paper ( the saffron paper gives the leaf a warmer effect ).
I created a double bow with Linen Thread which I tied around a piece of Crochet Trim. Use glue dots to attach it to the stem of the leaf and to hold down the tips of the Crochet Trim.

The pretty soft suede trim has cute little holes that magically appear when you use the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch. And finally stamp the " made with love " sentiment on the side panel in Soft Suede.

Put August 1st on your calendar to browse online through the new
40 page Holiday Catalog

Which one do like best?

I do love purples so I think I like this one using Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant and Pool Party. I love how the eggplant gives a bold contrast to the lighter colors and the striped banner is so crisp looking. 2 shades of purple and 1 blue all from the cool side of the color wheel.

Chalk Talk 3 Ways

This week I'm enjoying the versatility of the Chalk Talk stamp set and the fabulous matching framelits. I really appreciate the fact that I can count on the Coordinating products to take out the guess work of which die or punch will fit with my images. My customers tell me it saves them a lot of time and I will have to agree on that......love those coordinating sets!

I thought it would be fun to do the same card with 3 different color combinations. How easy is that? Just change up a few of the accessories and I have 3 quick handmade Thank You cards for my friends!

#1. My own color combo of Rich Razzleberry, Pear Pizzazz, and Basic Gray

Fun little accessories were added to the popped up tag....
white bakers twine, ribbon (retired), rhinestones, candy dots

Bermuda Bay Taffeta Ribbon and Linen Thread
are tied on the top of this tag.
Hung Up Cute Clips are featured again.....these adorable clips
are so easy to attach, no glue needed!

It's Technique Twist Challenge Time

It's the 15th of the month and time for Another
Technique Twist
# 3 "Water Stamping" & Papaya Collage

Grab the Badge!

Check out the cool cards the other Design Team Members have done

I used the Papaya Collage stamp set for my Twist. I wanted to use an image that was a solid stamp rather than a lined image. Cut your main panel with white card stock measuring 4 1/4" x 2 3/4". Heavily sponge sections of Always Artichoke, Garden Green and Pear Pizzazz. Next, you will want to create a liquid to stamp on top of the inked paper. This is where my TWIST comes in. Instead of making a water filled paper towel stamp pad. I flipped my stamp over and lightly sprayed Windex on my stamp. I then took my paper and placed it face down on the sprayed stamp. Let it sit there for a few seconds and then remove. Let dry thoroughly and then stamp another leaf image until you get your desired effect.

To add extra Dimension to my images I silver embossed the leaf for an extra layered effect. Place your finished panel on a Very Vanilla layer measuring
4 1/2" x 3 " . Use a texturing tool to fray the edges. Layer the 2 pieces onto a Always Artichoke layer measuring  4 3/4" x 3 1/4". Tie with Linen Thread and pop up all the panels on a Pear Pizzazz card base.

Silver Emboss ( instructions here ) the "hello" sentiment from the Pennant Parade stamp set and place over the top of the Linen Thread. Stamp the butterfly from the Papaya Collage set with Primrose Petal ink of vanilla card stock. Cut out and Trim close to the edges of the butterfly. Lightly sponge the outside edges and center of the butterfly with Pear ink. Bling up the body with Rhinestone Basics.
 NOW it's Your Turn!
Come join the fun and try out the challenge yourself.....
just do the basic water stamping if you would like to.
