By the Tide w/ Speech Bubbles

Create an extra underwater detail,
It's EASY ! You can make these tropical Bubbles using a straw
and 1/2" Circle Punch.

I must admit though, I'd rather be with my sister in Hawaii makes
my own bubbles in snorkel gear rather than making them here with ink.

She loves doing Hawaii and has made in a part of
her regular life. So guess who is getting this card?

This is also my take on this week's sketch challenge @
Create with Connie and Mary
Thanks ladies for you ongoing inspiration and challenges!

CCMC257

I thought you might like to know how I colored the fish. Just sponge a patch of each color, Coastal Cabana, Pistachio Pudding and Tangerine Tango on a piece of white card stock. Gently overlap each of the colors as you sponge.

Over stamp the sponged area with black ink, classic or Black Stazon is best. I experimented with Tangerine and then cut it out. I wasn't as happy with it so that is why I switched to black. I also found that black embossing was too strong.

Cut a wide oval Coastal Cabana panel to mount your popped up fish on. Cut a whisper white layer 3" x 3 1/2" and stamp the coral in Coastal Cabana. Use a corner round punch on the bottom edges and sponge lightly with the coastal cabana ink. Sponge the script image on either side of a Pistachio Pudding card base with the top of the script image hitting at the halfway point of the card base. Punch the rounded corners at the base front and back. Apply the white panel and then the fish panel. Dip the tip of a straw into Coastal Cabana Ink and stamp at the edge of the fish mouth and going upward. Cut a Tangerine Tango strip 5 1/2" x 3/4" and cover with Natural Trim. Apply this layer slightly over the top of the white panel. This textured trim is perfect to use with this stamp set because it has the look of sand. Stamp and cut out a sea horse using Coastal Cabana ink on Pistachio Pudding paper. You could leave out this detail if you have had enough fussy cutting already.

The bubble sentiments were stamped in Tangerine Tango using the Fabulous Phrases stamp set , punched out with a 1/2" circle punch and sponged in Coastal Cabana. I really enjoy having the versatility of the 30 individual stamps to create my own phrases, I can make it personal, like what I've done for my sister.

Flower Shop with an In Color Theme

I'm Loving the New Flower Shop stamp set!
I mean what's not to LOVE?
6 stamps all with a unique pattern and style, a matching
PANSY punch and the ability to stamp a solid color,
no fussy coloring needed!

This card includes all the NEW IN COLORS, right on TREND

I had so much fun making this card because I had a chance to make it at one of my team members monthly Stamp Clubs. Sue has a great bunch of lovely ladies who love to create. Sue even had fun with her refreshments that night, serving goodies in all the new In colors. Strawberries, cantaloupe slices, pistachios, brownies and blue green gatorade. All very colorful and tasty too! Besides giving her members a new stamp set and punch to try out, she also introduced them to the CANDY DOTS. Don't they make cute flower centers?
You can contact Sue HERE if you are in the Rocklin, Ca area

Print Poetry Dress Up

The Pretty Paper from the Print Poetry stack was what I used to create my long pleated skirt. Pretty, huh? Just Cut 1/2" wide strips long enough to hide the bottom of the stand. I cut 7.  Adhere 2 strips to the outside edges at the waistline, then work your way inward lapping over the top of the previous piece. Cover the top edge at the waistline with stitched ribbon and decorate with a crinkled up paper flower embellishment. I used the Boho Blossoms punch.

Here is the front of the Dress Up Pop-up
a simple punched BLOSSOM flower with a stem of
Silver Glimmer paper and leaves cut from the Blossom punch petals

2, 4, 6, 8 Who Do we Appreciate?

O.K. I confess this is one of my Favorite shaped boxes to make!
I guess that's because it's just so EASY , easy to fill with goodies and
 I can get 2 boxes out of 1 sheet of 8 1/2" x 11".
This one is made of Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo
and Gingham Garden Designer Paper.

To Make your 2,4,6,8, box.....
  1. Start with a piece of card stock 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"
      same as (1/2) sheet of  8 1/2" x 11"card stock
  2. Place card stock lengthwise on your paper cutter and score at 2".
  3. Turn card stock horizontally and score at 2", at 4", at 6" and at 8".
  4. Use your scissors and cut out the *smallest* RECTANGLE created by
      the score lines (it's about 2" x 1/2").
  5. You will now have a row of 4- 2"x2" scored squares on one of
      the sides.
  6. Use your scissors and cut the 2" score marks up to the scored line
that runs all the way across. Each 2" square will end up attached on
one side only and be able to fold separate from the other 3.
  7. Fold all score marks.
  8. Punch the 8 1/2" side that is opposite from the scored 2"x2" squares with
the Scallop Edge Border punch. This edge becomes the top of the box.
  9. Put sticky strip on the end that is about 3 1/2" x 1/2".
 10. Peel off sticky strip and adhere to the underside of the opposite side
rectangle  that is 3 1/2"x 2" to create the 4 sides of the box.
 11. Fold up bottom 2"x2" squares and adhere each section to the other
       to close up the bottom.

Gingham Garden Designer Paper panels are cut 1 1/2" x3"

Punch a BLOSSOM flower in Melon Mambo. Die Cut  A White tag from the Hearts a Flutter Framelits, Wrap it with Gingham Garden Washi Tape and then you can stamp an Island Indigo " For You " from the "A Round Array" stamp set. (available in Spanish and French). Use the cute little 7/8" Scallop Circle Punch to punch out the image. Punch a small hole in the top of the tag and Tie a piece of Daffodil Delight Seam binding knotted with a bow of Island Indigo Bakers Twine.

Stamping the issue is EASY...
Stamp the Medallion from the A Round Array set in Island Indigo Ink
randomly on the tissue. Take a pencil eraser and use as a stamp and stamp
Melon Mambo polka dots in between your medallion images.

Post Card with a Modern Medley of DSP

Here it is...the NEW "POST CARD" stamp
...it's really a blank vintage canvas!
"What Do I do WITH IT"? you might say

Well, you can start by pulling out some scraps of printed paper.
I used the NEW Modern Medley DSP...loads of classic vintage black and vanilla
prints. I thought it would be fun to mix it with Bermuda Bay and Coastal Cabana with a bold contrast of black. Intrigued?

By The Tide, Technique Twist (blown Ink)

By the Tide Coral Explodes with Blown Ink!
Snorkel not required!
The Twist? on White GLOSSY card stock

Grab the Badge!

It's our first challenge at The Technique Twist Challenge blog

I had a lot of fun trying out this technique and it was so EASY!
It's amazing how the shiny glossy paper and watery colors achieved
a real underwater feel.

You will want to stamp your image with BLACK STAZON on white glossy paper  3 1/2" x 3" and then place 2 drops of reinkers ( Bermuda Bay and Pistachio Pudding ) at the base of the coral.

Use a straw and blow the ink upward moving your straw slightly side to side toward the top of the coral. Let dry for several hours or use a hairdryer to speed up drying time. Stamp the fish image with stazon on a separate piece of glossy paper and use a small drop of reinker and a blender pen to shade in the colors of the fish. Pop up the fish with dimensionals. Cut layers as given toward the end of this post.
Now it's your turn.....
Come join in on the Challenge and do your own " BLOWN INK " HERE

It's our first challenge at The Technique Twist Challenge blog & what better way to celebrate than with a blog hop!  To enter, leave a comment on each blog for your chance to win a great prize pack!

Clean and Simple " A Round Array" 15 min card

Do you have fifteen minutes?
Clean and Simple and Fresh Colors

What a Great Way to Say
"Thank You" to someone for their Kindness!

Using a white card base with pops of bright colors is an easy and quick card. This is when I take advantage of the extra white card bases that I have in a already cut and scored box of ready to use card bases. I love it when I take the extra time to score the other half of a sheet of card stock and tuck it away in my Ready to Use Box. Besides that, I often pull out a few scored card bases and choose between a vast selection of colors to determine which color I will use for my new design. It really helps with seeing how strong or soft a background color you really want.
The
Colors used today include
Basic Black 8-1/2X11 Card StockElegant Eggplant 8-1/2X11 Card Stock

Island Indigo 8-1/2 X 11 Card StockCoastal Cabana 8-1/2 x 11 Cardstock

Black, Elegant Eggplant, Island Indigo and Coastal Cabana

The "A Round Array" stamp set is also available in Spanish and French
and the 7/8" Scallop Circle Punch comes in ALL languages (lol)

Clean and Simple Bright Circles

I'm Going Clean and Simple Today (CAS)
White, Brights and a sentiment from the Hostess set
Postage Collection

I haven't had a chance to play at the Create with Connie and Mary
Challenges lately because I have been out of town with Hubby on business.
I made this last week's sketch challenge a personal challenge to do something with whites and brights. I think it turned out fun and playful!

CCMC255

See all the entries for this challenge HERE

I'm also pleased to announce that I have been asked to be
a Guest Designer again for the Summer Collection at
Create with Connie and Mary
24 incredible projects EACH with a full downloadable tutorial!

Today's card details
It really was easy to do.....prepare each of the black and white panels first.

Large White Perfect Polka Dots panel    4 3/4" x 3 1/4"
Large Black panel      5" x 3 1/2"
Black Banner panel    5" x 2 1/4"
White Banner Panel    4 3/4" x 2"

Punch Circles in Black

Black circles   1 3/8" circle punch #119860

Punch and adhere a bright circles unto the the black circles
Bright Colored Circles  1 1/4" circle punch #119861

I used card stock from the Brights Collection (all in 1 pkg.) # 131190 ......Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive (there are 5 additional colors in the Brights Collection that I did not use).

Once your circles are layered together , just adhere them to the white banner panel. Make them overlap the white edges. Now flip over the white panel and trim off any part of the circle that hangs over the white edges. Adhere this finished white panel to the black banner panel. Apply 2 rows of White Stitched grosgrain ribbon #126877. Pop up the whole banner and sentiment panels with dimensionals.

A perfect clean and simple card for any occasion!
