Farewell To Tea Shoppe & Baja Breeze

The Vintage in me isn't happy to see the TEA SHOPPE set being retired.
The set is so versatile with it's 10 different stamps I've gotta my $$ worth
and did you know it's also available in French.
( FYI, both of my Mom's parents were French, and now my son is familiar with French because of living 9 mos in France. )

Back to the card......and being sad about this set
Which set are you going to MISS?
Let us know over at the SU ONLY Challenges

The Colors you will want to Use in this technique card are
Elegant Eggplant, Baja Breeze, Perfect Plum and Island Indigo.

You can Create the multiple colors in the tea cup by cutting a piece of white card stock larger than the tea cup image itself. Sponge three colors of ink  (Eggplant, Baja Breeze and Island Indigo) on the white CS in patches, so that each color touches each other.

Now ink up the large teacup with Perfect Plum ink and stamp over the ink patches. Cut out the Tea Cup (tip: punch a circle in the handle first to help with the fussy cutting process), embellish with tiny pearls and a Small Heart punched from Silver Glimmer Paper. I sponged the glimmer paper with Baja Breeze ink.

You will want to attach the Baja Breeze and Island Indigo layers together before running through the Striped Embossing folder.

Cut a White CS panel using the Label Collections Framelits and stamp your images with Elegant Eggplant Ink. Sponge the edges with Perfect Plum ink to create a soft vintage feel.

Make a cute little Tea Bag sentiment with Island Indigo ink and the Small Oval Punch. Sponge the edges with Perfect Plum ink. Attach to the back of the tea cup with Island Indigo Bakers Twine and a glue dot.

Add a Vintage Ruffled trim when you place a row of Sticky Strip adhesive below the Tea Cup and scrunch up the Baja Breeze 1/2" Seam Binding as you adhere it down on the adhesive.

Gingham Garden Dress Shaped Card

A Little Gingham Garden Summer Dress card seems so fitting
for this New Designer Paper!

I made the card so that the fold is on the shoulders and it
will fit into a regular A2 size envelope (5 3/4" x 4 3/8"). That makes
it easy to send or tuck into your favorite gift bag.

If you cut your 8 1/2" x 11" card stock in half creating a long piece
measuring 4 1/4" x 11" then score at 5 1/2" you will have your base.
see diagram HERE

The Collar is made with the 1 3/4" scallop circle punch and the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. Matching pockets adorn the skirt using the Hearts A Flutter Framelits and the new Gingham Garden Designer Washi Tape. Tie a tiny bow using the Daffodil Delight stitched grosgrain ribbon and you can use a glue dot to attach to the collar.

Gingham Garden & Birthday Chalk Board Treat Box

What a Better Way to say Happy Birthday, then a Treat Box
filled with a bag full of Little Chocolate Nuggets and
a "LABEL LOVE" Happy Birthday to You

Today I mixed up some favorites.....
Gingham Garden Designer Paper, Strawberry Slush card stock, the Chalkboard Technique, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder and a Cute Cello Bag Ribbon Tie. ( Paper is from the NEW Catalog products available May 31st )

You can make one yourself, here's how.....

Step. 1
Cut a Piece of Gingham Garden DSP  4"x 2 1/2"    Score @ 1/2" and 3 3/4"

Step. 2

Fold over top and bottom edges.
Use snail adhesive to hold into place.

Step 3. Embossing the Sentiment

Cut a piece of Basic Black card stock that will be
large enough to be able to stamp the HAPPY
BIRTHDAY sentiment from the LABEL LOVE
     stamp set
(available in Spanish and French also)

Use an Embossing Buddy and Dust your card
stock to prevent unwanted embossing powder
going in places you don't want.

Stamp your sentiment into the clear ink

VERSAMARK PAD and stamp onto your paper.
You will barely be able to see the sentiment.
      It will look shiny.

Sprinkle White Embossing Powder all over the
    embossed image.

Shake off excess that does not stick to the ink

Using an Embossing Gun, heat up the sentiment
        until it turns shiny.

Step.4  Creating a Chalkboard Effect

Punch the image using the 1 3/4"
         Scallop Circle punch.

Ink the outside edges of the punched
 image with White Craft Ink.
(oops, I should have shown you the
 punched piece, sorry )

Step 5.

Cut a piece of DAFFODIL DELIGHT card stock
          3" x 2 1/2".

Adhere Folded Designer Paper from Step. 2
on top of the Daffodil piece slightly offset at
          an angle.

Step. 6   Making the BOX

Cut a Piece of Strawberry Slush card stock
 8 1/2" x 5", Score on the 8 1/2" side at
 3 3/4" and 4 3/4".

Flip card stock to the 5" side and score
           @ 1" and 4".

Run each side of the box through the
Big Shot machine using the Perfect Polka
           Dots Embossing Folder.

Cut on score lines and attach Red Sticky
Strip adhesive to top and bottom sections
    of one side.

Remove adhesive film and fold large tabs
on the right side over the small tabs in
the middle and large tabs on the left will
be on the outside when folded over the
                                        other large tabs.
TIP** Try folding it first without the adhesive

Step. 7  Attaching the sentiment panel

Place Dimensionals on the backs of the
    2 panels for the sentiment.

Adhere the rectangle panel to the box base.

Adhere Chalk board sentiment to rectangle
pieces in making sure the sentiment is parallel
with the bottom of the box.

Step. 8   Treat Bag

             Fill a 4" x 6" Cellophane Bag with Designer
Paper wrapped Nuggets as seen HERE
             or your favor candy.
Tie with Daffodil Delight Stitched Grosgrain
Ribbon. Make a 3 loops of Island Indigo
Bakers Twine ( I do this around the palm
of my hand). Place it in the middle of the
             tied grosgrain.

Fill Your Birthday Treat Box and Give to
       Your  favorite Chocolate Lover  ........
O.k.  to eat a piece before you fill the bag!

Tool Shed, "Easy" card for the Global Guy

Want to Make a QUICK and Easy Guy card?
Stampin' Up's TOOL SHED background stamp to the rescue.
And for all my global visitors the images are perfect for that masculine guy
no matter where he lives in this world......we love our guys!

I mean let's think about it, most guys don't appreciate the time you put into a detailed card...right?  key word here is MOST. I always laugh and tell my Stamp Club ladies, don't bother spending too much time on the details. We laugh and then talk about retrieving our works of art after the guys toss it aside. Are you feeling THE LOVE???  So when I had the ladies stamp this card at our last Club meeting they were thrilled with the detail of the images on a quick card. Of course, we could have also cut out some images and popped them up as an additional detail, but decided we weren't feeling the love THAT MUCH!

Colors include..Vanilla, Soft Suede, Night of Navy and Cajun Craze

Stampin Up Mosaic DressUp Sneak Peek

Well , you've caught me playing paper dolls again,
but this time it's with the new
PUNCH and Embossing Folder from the New 2013-14 Catalog!

I thought I would have fun and go with kind of an ethnic flair inspired by the
Mosaic Collection
and the color challenge at Create with Connie and Mary

2013 Thursday Challenges-015
or see what the other designers have done.

The Dress Up Framelits are so fun the play with and mix up the dress designs with this great New Stamp set. How do you think it would look in bright colors?

Build a Blossom, Petal Cone Flower Pot

I wanted to show you a recent Stamp Club project where we used the
Build a Blossom stamp set and matching punch(soon retiring),
and the Petal Cone die cut of which I have used for several fun projects.

( Find more ways to S T R E T C H the way you use the Petal Cone Die at the end of this post)

I thrilled with the clean white, the brights and the perky polka dots.
I'm such a garden nut that anything with flowers fills my soul.
Speaking of filling, the pot is filled with a little note card that so
when you pull up the flowers you can stamp or write the perfect sentiment.
Soooo Cute!

We used the colors, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive

There is a mini flower pot tutorial by the very talented
Helen @ H2 Designs that I used

You can find it here

Thank You Helen for your inspiration and fabulous instructions!
